Cultural Inquiry proposal will be part of a Horizon-scanning process to identify tangible manifestations of novelty. The exercise involves an early discovery of developments or events not yet 'on the radar' of experts, decision-makers, or the general public. This means looking for future possibilities, at the margins of mainstream knowledge, and often beyond what we already think we know.

  • Playing with Algorithms

Welcome to our Algorithm Playground- Amusement Park!

We tend to use AI for ‘serious things’: writing an article, researching, and checking a fact. Some even use it to select candidates for a job, to give a credit or insurance policy, or to design a course at a university. These are examples of what we call AI-Adult oriented. But can we use AI to play, have fun, and create crazy things?

We think so. That's why we've created our AI Playgrounds where we'll all have fun guided by the kids, the experts in playing and AI. They will teach us how to use AI in a more fun, creative, and social way. Guided by them we will play, create play spaces, a toy, or exhibitions at home, or create together fantastic and imaginative storytelling by combining Chat GPT with books and tales.

To this end, we have invited internationally renowned experts in IA, creativity, and education to present us with their children's wonderful projects that they have done together and that we can use as inspiration to create our creative projects using IA to create, play, and learn as a family.

We tend to see play as a naive "children's activity". But play is much more than that. What would happen if we started to play more with ourselves and others? How would this affect our well-being, motivation, creativity, and passion? How could we do this by learning from those who are best at it, the children?

In our session, we will play together to rediscover the joy of the experience of playing for the sake of playing, as children know to do. • Let's Play Together! Should we play more in our museums?

    MUSEUMS AND CHANGE

Thursday, 4/11, at 12:30 pm EDT

There is nothing more serious, urgent, and important than play. When we play we become the best version of ourselves. We are fully connected to who we are and to the present, we relate authentically to others, we are more creative and empathetic, we learn better by overcoming our fears and prejudices, and we get a lot out of just being. Unfortunately, as museum professionals, we tend to see play as a "children's activity" that we organize to attract families. But play is much more than that.

What would happen if we started to play more with our work colleagues? How would this affect our well-being, motivation, and involvement? How could we do this by learning from those who are best at it--children? Today more than ever, play is a necessity for everyone and museums must elevate it as an internal strategic priority.

Institute of Arts and Design Education (IADE)- University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland 1st. February 2025

We invite you to re-connect with your authentic self in order to build more authentic, deep, lasting, and joyful relationships with your (target, what a word!) audience, client, partner, friend, stakeholder, fundraiser, dream colleague, potential catalyzed, readers, students... using as role models clowns, children, and nature organisms because they are the best at it.

  • Webinar "Back to the kindergarten. Reconnecting with your inner-self by playing"

Community Call in cooperation with Collaboratio Helvetica

    5 February 2024. 7 pm.

We have become accustomed to "going along for the ride" by not being who we are. We are what our boss wants, our partner wants, our friend wants, but we are not us. We are permanently disconnected from ourselves, making it impossible for us to connect authentically and deeply with others. We pretend that we listen to the other person, understand them, and care about what happens to them, but deep down we do not. In this webinar we offer some tools to reconnect with your true self through play and the joy of discovering things as you did the first time as a child: the first time you saw a star, the first time you tasted a lemon, the first time you touched the snow. Together we will explore those first times and try to stay in them as long as possible so that you can reconnect with others more authentically and deeply. To do this we will invite you to be vulnerable in a safe and welcoming space similar to a kindergarten for grown-ups.
